Parker Kittiwake engineering manager Andrew Baldwin splits his time between three locations when not conducting ship visits to advise users of continuous emissions monitoring equipment
05:00 It's not so much an early start as a normal start. I'm driving to Felixstowe for a ship visit and, with a very long day ahead, I'm definitely going to hit a greasy spoon the first chance I get. 06:30 I'm on my way now and I'm, ahem, suitably fortified. My typical week involves looking after three locations and teams of engineers who create condition monitoring and continuous emissions monitoring systems (CEMS). Today I am training some of our newer engineers on the commissioning of our Procal analyser CEMS, which will sit in-situ in a container vessel's stack. This will involve working on a ship sailing from Felixstowe to Hamburg, as the commissioning needs to take place while the engine is running.
