The United Kingdom is firmly immersed in a process to overhaul its provision of energy to meet growing demand in the coming decades. The approach must take into account the desire for decarbonisation to minimise the impact on climate change; to provide security of supply; and to give value for money to the consumer. Our nation needs multiple sources of reliable, affordable energy and in this context, a firm belief in the renewables sector, underscored by strong political will, is what will get us there. But positive sentiment alone is not enough-capital investment is essential too.
