Plus mining truck body, which is described as an integrated design to optimize mining truck performance. It will be available first in late 2005 for the 793-for both new trucks and for replacing truck bodies in the field for a refurbished fleet. The body will be an option for the new 793D mining truck, which will also offer a standard dual slope body, a standard flat floor body, and the MSD II body. The Performance Plus body builds on the design of the Caterpillar MSD (mine specific design) II truck body in the pivot and hoist area. The increased use of T-beams in the floor for the main rails and belt rib supports the pivots and ties the floor to the understructure. There are no hidden welds, which allows a visual inspection without using special tools.
