摘要

One of the technologies gaining traction in the expanding floating storage and regasification unit (FSRU) market is the use of hose-based compressed natural gas (CNG) transfer solutions. As compared with traditional marine loading arms (MLAs), hose-based solutions offer lower upfront costs, optimised design and shorter lead times, says a leading manufacturer of the systems. Frank Voswinkel, global business manager at the ContiTech high-pressure products division of Continental AG, tells LNG Shipping & Terminals that the company's bonded flexible hoses have "significant capex and opex advantages as well as reduced lead time, that allows projects to be online in a much shorter timeframe." Adds Mr Voswinkel: "On top of this, there are minimal maintenance requirements, compared to loading arms, and it is a permanent solution."
