摘要

In the article, the authors draw attention to the priority of city cycling infrastructure development to improve the quality of life, safer movement, preservation of the environment. The need for measures in the development of cycling infrastructure in cities helps in solving a number of problems related to improving the environmental situation, has a positive economic effect, and is aimed at attracting additional cyclists from other regions. The authors study the development problem of municipal bicycle infrastructure on the example of Ukrainian cities and offer an adaptive approach to the development of a network of bicycle paths, which encourages residents to increasingly use bicycles for short trips. The study presents the authors' views on plausible scenarios for the implementation of municipal programs for the development of cycling, environmental quality and closely related to the concept of sustainable development and overcoming the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. Using the survey method, a portrait of a potential user of local bicycle transport was formed, the economic and ecological expediency of creation and development of bicycle infrastructure in the cities of Ukraine was determined. The scenario plan of development of the municipal bicycle infrastructure of the city of Odessa is offered and substantiated.
