Delegates at the annual conference of the Royal College of General Practitioners in Liverpool applauded a colleague who called for an end to the use of the term "salaried" to describe doctors employed by general practices. Sally Ross, a GP in Portsmouth, said on 25 October, "I've never heard a surgeon or a respiratory physician describe themselves as salaried."
