The book presents an excellent account of the sensemaking process of the Federal Reserve (Fed) regarding the financial crisis. It starts with the August 2007 Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) meeting to consider developments in the economy and financial markets. The author describes how the FOMC developed relevant cues for policymaking from August 2007 to late 2008. Initially, there was a concern about whether market mechanisms could lead to efficient repricing of securities to reflect new risks in financial markets.
