摘要

Good-quality, stable employment is associated with better health outcomes, and good employment is essential for health equity (World Health Organization (WHO), 2019). In recent years there have been changes to the trends in employment, including technological advancements, globalisation and increased worldwide mobility of workers, economic downturns and recessions, all of which have led to an increase in precarious employment arrangements. There is no single definition of precarious employment, but it is a multi-dimensional construct encompassing employment insecurity, lack of formalised arrangements, such as contracts, low pay, limited workplace rights and powerlessness (Benach et al, 2016).
