Bangladesh-based shipbuilder Western Marine has recently unveiled the 'Isefjord', a groundbreaking new Ro-Pax vessel for Danish owner Hundested Rorvig Faergefart. Believed to be the most advanced vessel built by a Bangladeshi shipbuilder to date, the'Isefjord' is the first passenger vessel to be exported from Bangladesh to Europe. The vessel measures 51 metres in length, with a draught of 2.25 metres and a depth of 3.4 metres. Twin Cummins Q5K19-M engines power the vessel; each rated for 372kW and driving Schottel azimuthing propellers. The 'Isefjord' attains a maximum speed of 13 knots and a cruising speed of 11 knots. It will transport up to 147 passengers and 28 vehicles around the coastal regions of Denmark.
