When Phillip Wright decided he needed a bigger tender for his impressive mother ship, 'Eubalaena', he approached Tri-Star Marine of Hobart, Tasmania, to build it for him. The need arose when Phillip decided his operation had outgrown his existing five metre boat which had room for only eight or 10 cray pots. He required a tender that could cope with 25 pots, and also provide a stable dive platform when required for abalone fishing.
