'Mikal With' is a versatile compact Norwegian short-sea cargo vessel built by Vaagland Batbyggeri and currently working for fish farming group EWOS whose logo is emblazoned on its hull. The Ro-Ro class ship is largely autonomous in its ability to handle cagoes - an essential feature for tonnage designed to ply Norway's extensive coastal waters for owner Egil Ulvan Rederi of Trondheim. Classification is DnV: 1Al General Cargo Carrier, R0, Ice C, EO. Key dimensions are 55.38 metres LOA, by 13 metresbreadth, by 7.2 metres depth to shelter deck, by 4.2 metres draft. Tonnage is 1,200 deadweight. Nominal capacity is 59 standard containers and cargo hold volume is 2,375m~3. The hull design and layout of key handling systems - 40-tonne and 10-tonne Dreggen cargo cranes, side loader with elevators by TTS-Mongstad, and pneumatic unloading system by Atlas Copco - should make for exceptional flexibility of operation, not least the carriage of fish farming systems, feeds and salmon product for EWOS, which isa leading Norwegian aquaculture group.
