ViaSat's ruggedised AN/PSC-14(C) integrated 'manpack' BGAN terminal has received certification from the US National Security Agency (NSA) forType 1 security for classified communications. In effect, this certification makes the terminal the first BGAN unit with encryption capabilities. As Via Inmarsat went to press, ViaSat was already fulfilling orders forthe terminal from the US Department of Defense, Homeland Security and other authorised international governments.
