Japanese broadcaster Nippon Housou Kyokai (NHK) Media turned to the dark side in July, utilising FleetBroadband to relay footage of the longest solar eclipse witnessed so far this century. On 22 July, the eclipse, which lasted six minutes and 39 seconds, was visible across Southeast Asia, casting its shadow over territories including India, Nepal, Bangladesh, Myanmar and the Pacific Ocean. The NHK team hired and deployed two JRC JUE-250 FleetBroadband (FB) 250 terminals (one designated as a back-up) aboard Venus Cruises' 183.4m liner Pacific Venus, and set off from Yokohama, Japan to relay footage of the path of the Moon's umbral mid morning, directly from the vessel to the Yahoo!
