The Icelandic Coast Guard recently took delivery of a Bombardier Dash 8-300 twin-turboprop maritime surveillance aircraft, equipped with SwiftBroadband. Fitted out for its task by Field Aviation of Canada, the aircraft carries a Rockwell Collins SRT-2120 terminal with HST-2120 SwiftBroadband unit, a Cobham Satcom HGA-7000 high-gain antenna, and a sensor suite including a 360-degree maritime search radar, a side-looking radar and an electro-optic/infra-red camera pod. All the sensors feed into a data-handling system developed by L-3 Communications.
