The XipOS TCP accelerator from XipLink has been awarded the prestigious 2009 Frost & Sullivan North America Technology Innovation Award, in the field of Military Satellite Network Optimization. The solution delivers the maximum capacity over stressed wireless links through the use of advanced TCP acceleration algorithms based on the Space Communications Protocol Specification (SCPS). This is handled in combination with stream-based data compression, to completely fill fixed or dynamic wireless links, exceeding the link capacity. V3.0 or XipOS combines these bandwidth optimisation capabilities with a new Quality of Service (QoS) engine that operates on logical wireless network queues, supporting multiple wireless networks from a single hub appliance, and delivering bandwidth gains exceeding 200 per cent for most users.
