Hospitals and health systems faced an urgent need to transform the way care was delivered. This meant their supporting technology had to change rapidly. Organizations were converting non-clinical spaces to intensive care units to treat as many people as possible. They needed to increase bed capacity by as much as 50 percent to 100 percent. This affected not only patients but also employees. After this initial phase we see a vast expansion of telehealth programs for all outpatient visits. Now providers and patients view it as a normal - even preferred - way to obtain and deliver care. Additionally, organizations are focused on operational efficiency that will carry them through staffing challenges and revenue shifts. Healthcare is going through many pressures and changes - and proactive organizations are looking at how they can become agile, operationally and financially. They understand technology plays a huge role.
