What do you think the biggest HIT trend in 2019 will be? Without question, the largest trend in HIT right now is artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning. However, while most hospitals are talking about AI, they aren't seeing much success. For example, the industry had high hopes for IBM Watson, but that has been scaled back as the anticipated results have not been realized. Most notably, the University of Texas' M.D. Anderson Cancer Center canceled a $62 million Watson contract.
