China's output of primary aluminum was 617,358 tonnes in November 2004, exceeding the previous 1 high of 606,772 tonnes that was seen in October, according to data released by the NBS. It is worth noting that all Chinese aluminum producers had learned that the VAT refunds for primary mm export will be removed from January 1, 2005 and also heard that additional tariff(5 percent) will be ed on aluminum export. The change in policy reflects that Chinese government wants to restrict mm export as primary aluminum is an energy-intensive products and China has been experienced a shortage in recent years.
