After 10 years as a colum-nist for this fine magazine, it is now time for a regime change, a new look at the world of wine public relations. Moving forward, instead of my regular harangues, there will be a real journalist with the assignment to coverthe field more broadly than I can from my office.Yet of course, I'll always be available for a quote or two!A lot of things have changed over the last decade, but too many have not. Wineries still talk about themselves as if they were all the same. To paraphrase Elizabeth Slater, who has also written for this magazine for a long period of time, they are all small, family-ownedwineries with selected vineyards, handcrafted wines and a true focus on quality.
