Athousand industry professionals from the Midwest wine, craft beer and spirits industries gathered at the St. Charles Convention Center in St. Charles, Mo., for the annual Midwest Grape & Wine + Craft Brew Conference, held March 10-12.On March 9, the day before the official opening of the conference, the Sonoma State University Wine Business Institute presented a full-day workshop on "Calculating the True Cost of Your Wine" and "Financial Strategy and Planning for Wineries," led by winery accountant Jeanette Tan. Melba Allen of the Viticultural Enology Science & Technical Alliance (VESTA) also kicked off her two-day wine sensory workshop.
