Thanks for the intel' Paul, and for Billy's number so we could give him a call. He told us that Swamp Rat had really suffered the ravages of time since being featured in our September '73 issue. Billy kindly sent us pics showing how the car used to look, how it was when he bought it and the result of his rebuild. He was also able to fill in some more of the car's history: "The car has been in Liverpool for over 30 years, and the guy I bought it from used it as a promotional vehicle, parked outside his car sales pitch. "In the early '90s, he stored it in a prefab garage where it sat for 20-odd years, with the garage roof collapsing on it. The car was then moved to a petrol station he owned and was stored in a disused car wash for a few more years.
