When lockdown hit, some people turned to gardening or decorating to occupy their time. Others just carried on building cars. Reflect for a moment on the last two cars Graham Slater has put together - the Jaguar XK8-based Zephijy, which graced the cover of our '17 issue, and a '36 Auburn Speedster. Both impressive builds, and undeniably ostentatious. In comparison, the '54 Chevy Bel Air pictured here appears somewhat demure, and it was already a UK-registered custom when Graham got his hands on it. What's more, the car was just down the road, so he didn't have to go far to fetch it.
