In the International Ag University sales program, we teach salespeople how to negotiate with customers and also how to negotiate with their employer. I tell students they can get almost anything they want as long as they follow the rules of negotiating with an employer. Some students tried and were successful. A few got better company vehicles while others now make their own deals without having to check with the sales manager. So, what are the rules?
