To the Editor:We would like to comment on the article by Erdine et al. on the ultrastructural changes in axons that have been observed following exposure to pulsed radiofrequency (PRF). First of all, we compliment the authors on their work, providing a valuable scientific contribution to the effects of PRF.We were less enthusiastic about the discussion because the findings are not put in perspective. Are we made to believe that PRF works through ablation? That remains to be seen, but the authors in fact do not conclude anything. They just leave an impression. We find this impression potentially misleading at our present state of knowledge, and we would like to state our arguments.
