The Project LiveWire development used what Jeff Richlen calls a "hybrid blend" of a dedicated core team and others pulled in on a "virtual" basis simultaneously from ongoing production programs. It was executed "very purposefully and aggressively," he said, "and it exemplified the product-development transformation that began at Harley-Davidson in 2009 and continues today. We call this our 'FIT' organization, which stands for Flexible Integration Teams."
