To build software-defined vehicles, the auto industry will adopt two solutions that have been used for years in the cloud: microservices architecture and containerization. According to IBM "Microservices (or microservices architecture) is a cloud native architectural approach in which a single application is composed of many loosely coupled and independently deployable smaller components, or services." Amazon Web Services (AWS) defines that "Containers provide a standard way to package an application's code, configurations, and dependencies into a single object. They are lightweight and provide a consistent, portable software environment for applications to easily run and scale anywhere."
