With a light visible at the end of the pandemic tunnel, the chaos that defined 2020 appears to be subsiding. So, with life gradually returning to what it once was before everything changed, one would think that this pressing of the reset button would extend to the packaging and label industry. However, a full return to normal has not quite arrived as companies continue to navigate the uncertainties of a strained supply chain, labor shortages, and a return to in-person work.Despite these lingering effects of an unprecedented pandemic, the label segment is largely continuing the soaring success it saw in 2020. With consumers stuck at home, the industry saw huge gains in certain segments including food and beverage, pharmaceutical and nutraceutical, and home care and cleaning. Demand has remained high in many of these segments, and with market segments that were negatively impacted by the pandemic now coming back, the label industry is poised for another exceptional year.
