Once again, it's my pleasure to introduce the following section, View From The Top. Now in its 11 th year, these pages offer terrific insight from top-level executives in leading logistics companies as to the current state of the industry, and how their companies are meeting today's challenges. The Results of the 23rd Annual State of Logistics Report show that the rebound for the supply chain and logistics industry continues to be slow. While railroads gained market share and trucking companies saw an increase in rates in 2011, air cargo revenue declined and ocean carriers continued to deal with overcapacity and operational losses. Unfortunately, the economy remains sluggish this year, and the uncertainty before the upcoming election in November will most likely keep it that way.
