The Direction de la coopération de sécurité et de défense (DCSD) which is part of the French foreign ministry, has its heart set on little-known French drone manufacturer Eos Technologie, founded in 2018, to supply the Forces armées togolaises (FAT). Through the European Defence Forces Enabling Development (DEFEND) programme, EOS will deliver up to five Strix 300 and 400 drones before the end of this year. The drones will cover a 50 km zone and collect data along the northern border, where improving security has become a priority with the growing number of militia groups coverging from the expanses of Sahel.
