摘要

Surveys and inspection are being hampered by COVID-19 restrictions placed on personnel in ports. Port state control (PSC) regimes are still carrying out targeted surveys; however, the wider impact on data gathering, maritime safety, and increased digitalisation through remote surveys need to be evaluated. In April 2020, the10PSC regimes announced at an International Maritime Organization (IMO) online meeting that they will continue to target high-risk or substandard ships, despite the reduced number of physical onboard inspections due to COVID-19 restrictions.
