A flexible dual-spindle machining center can enable more efficient component production for electric powertrain and internal combustion system manufacturers. With e-mobility applications - and vehicle battery trays in particular - in mind, PCI Machining added a larger machine size to its range in 2019, The company, which designs and manufactures machining solutions for the mass production of automotive parts, introduced the Meteor 3000-W (single-spindle) and TS3000V-W (double-spindle) machines, which enable 3,000mm, 1,600mm and 1,260mm strokes for x-, y- and z-axis respectively. The z-axis stroke is split between the spindle and the trunnion table, which are both able to travel up to 630mm.
