摘要

Headache is a malady affecting over 90% of the population. The intensity and frequency of headaches vary widely, as do their causes and levels of severity. While some headaches may be an accompanying symptom of a headcold, others may signal the onset of a stroke or may warn of a brain tumor. Many headache victims do not realize that there are various causes for this condition as well as myriad treatments, with the result that some sufferers endure headaches which can be easily treated by drug therapies or which can be prevented by avoiding certain foods. Some headaches require nothing more than non-prescription medication to relieve pain. Others may require immediate medical attention in order to avoid grave damage, as in the case of stroke, meningitis, or subdural hematoma. The Internet provides much information about headaches. This paper describes several Web sites that provide information of use to the headache sufferer.
