Combined domestic inventories of crude, gasoline, and "distillate fuel oil" (DFO, i.e., middle distillates excluding jet fuel) shrank by 1.338MM bbl (0.2%) over the week ending Jan. 28 to a two-week low of 787.924MM bbl, as reported by the US EIA. The Administration's figure for total stocks of crude and petroleum products (including in-transit crude in Alaska, crude in the strategic petroleum reserve, and other products such as jet fuel, residual fuel oil, propane/propylene, kerosene, asphalt, etc.) was down by 7.657MM bbl (0.4%) to 1.7678B bbl—a low not seen since early June 2014. The EIA's figure for the week ending Jan. 21 for collective product supplied (a proxy for implied demand) for all products slipped by 4.5% to a three-week low of 21.410MM b/d.
