After we reported last week that Abu Dhabi National Oil Co. (ADNOC) could launch a stock market listing of more than 10% of its retail arm ADNOC Distribution next year, the company said it is also considering selling a stake in in its shipping arm. ADNOC noted that no decision on whether to launch an initial public offering (IPO) for its shipping arm will be made until it completes the merger of its three maritime transport and service businesses-Abu Dhabi National Tanker Co. (Adnatco), Abu Dhabi Petroleum Ports Operating Co. (Irshad), and Petroleum Services Co. (Esnaad)-which is expected before the end of this year. The merged companies will operate over 165 vessels, ranging from natural gas carriers and refined-product tankers to tugboats and support vessels.
