The operator of Ukraine's oil transportation system PJSC Ukrtransnafta has extended an offer to Iran to allow the Middle Eastern country to utilize its infrastructure in Ukraine to move Iranian crude to refineries in Ukraine and Central and Eastern Europe. Talks were said to be ongoing between the head of Ukrtransnafta Nikolai Gavrilenko and Iranian oil minister Bijan Zanganeh. Iran, which exported 2.74MM b/d of crude in July, routed about 25 of these exports to Europe and the rest to Asia. Iran is aiming to increase its exports to Europe to 37 of its total export volumes with the remainder going to Asia, and the potential routing of crude exports through Ukraine is seen as one way of achieving that goal.
