摘要

Researchers at the University of Oklahoma are working on several technologies that could one day form a tiny unmanned aerial vehicle that soldiers could use to enhance their battlefield awareness. "The goal is to be able to have infantry have a blister pack, half a dozen to a dozen NAVs nano air vehicles that they could pull out and launch somewhere," says Jamey Jacobs, an associate professor of mechanical and aerospace engineering. The work is being done under a contract from the U.S. Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), which wants enabling technologies for tiny unmanned vehicles less than three inches long. Oklahoma is one of the smaller university projects doing the work, he says.
