摘要

Ceramic objects are some of the oldest cultural relics in the world.Clay as a material is the key to understanding our history and ceramic shards remind us that things do not stay the same and might be imperfect,fragile,futile-resembling the human condition. The shard retains in its nature the shattering of the whole, and the exhibition Together/Apart pondered the incomplete-both made and unmade.Using installations, video and objects, the artists juxtapose harmony and disharmony, beauty and decay.Through deconstruction, they set up environments and scenarios for reconstructing history and memory.Art becomes tangible, real, while history vanishes and becoming fiction.Time is the main concept in all the work, whether in immediate change,or the timelessness of matter and the shifting nature of materials.
