摘要

Born in 1980, Mateusz Grobelny is a Polish ceramic artist. He graduated from the Art Academy of Wroclaw and now lives and works in Boleslawiec, the traditional ceramics center of Poland. Each August, Grobelny organises the International Open-Air Ceramic Sculpture exhibition during the ceramics festival held at the Boleslawiec Center of Culture and International Center for Ceramics. In 2006, Grobelny developed his first fiber cotton-coated kiln so that he could fire his large-scale work. It was during this period he also began to develop the concept of (what was to become known as) a Fire Aquarium. The following year, in 2007 he researched, developed and built the first of his Fire Aquariums, while he was still a student in Wroclaw.
