摘要

Internet has made the global dissemination of and access to the information materials a reality. It has pushed up the information revolution at an unprecedented scale. On the other hand, information security in the Internet has become a big concern with the massive amount of information going online and being transmitted through the networks. With the development of quantum technologies, it becomes visible to link the quantum devices together to build a quantum Internet with the intrinsic security that is guaranteed by quantum physics. Particularly, the versatility of quantum systems provides an extended degree of freedom for the engineering of information transmission, which corresponds to the different concepts of quantum channel capacity, for example, the classical capacity, quantum capacity, and so on, with respect to different physical resources, protocols, and implementations.
