Anew study has shown that the focused multivector ultraviolet disinfection technology, PurpleSun, could eliminate pathogens in and out of the operating room (OR) suite. The technology uses high levels of UV intensity in 90-second intervals and is also ideal for use in patient rooms and other healthcare settings. Researchers studied 3,000 microbiological samples from 100 surgical cases at three hospitals in New York, US and found that the UV light technology eliminated most pathogens that could potentially cause infection vs manual-chemical disinfection.
