The week ending Match 27 saw gasoline pikes fall across the country,while results for middle distillates were mixed.Diesel rose in all US markets covered here except for Los Angeles in California,but San Francisco(also in CA)saw an increase.Jet fuel fell at New York Harbor but rose at the Gulf and West Coasts.Meanwhile,data from the US EIA indicated gasoline demand(reported as product supplied)plunged by 859K b/d over the week ending March 20-the largest week-on-week decline of the past six months-while consumption of jet fuel nosedived by 270K b/d and demand for middle distillates(excluding jet fuel)decreased by 218K b/d on the week.EIA data also showed a 0.3-percentage-point decline in refinery utilization from the week ending March 13 to the week ending March 20,and IIR Energy estimated that US refiners increased their offline capacity from 866K b/d in the week to March 20 to 1.389MM b/d in the week to March 27.More refiners announced plans throughout the week for run cuts in response to declining demand.
