Iranian billet offers to GCC countries have risen by an average of $15/t month-on-month in October. By the end of the month, prices have reached $570?585/t CFR UAE. The material of other origin is priced at $560/t CFR UAE. Non-Iranian billet has been cheaper for the second week in a row. A rise in rebar prices in the UAE has brought no positive profitability to regional re-rollers. Higher finished steel prices in the UAE are attributed to weaker competition in the domestic market. Saudi Arabia has cancelled personal duties on price setter Emirates Steel Arkan, which has expanded the producer’s export capability. In addition, Emirates Steel Arkan has increased November rebar prices for the UAE by $10/t.
