THE first RVNs undertaking the RVC's new RCVS-accredited Certificates in Advanced Veterinary Nursing (CertAVN) have just completed their studies and, during this course, they've been making positive contributions to their clinical practices through clinical governance activities.As part of their studies on the CertAVN course, the students are required to undertake a knowledge summary and carry out a clinical audit in their workplace on a topic related to the specialist subject they are taking. Performing this knowledge summary means students are aware of the most up-to-date research about their topic and, therefore, are in a good position to implement changes in practice in response to their clinical audit results.
