The country looked to be in a comfortable position on DAP towards the end of September following weeks of activity. DAP prices were reported around $720-750 cfr end of the month compared to the $820 reported at the start of September, falling week-on-week. The existing nutrient-based subsidy ran to the end of September with expectations that the Indian Government would reduce the subsidy on DAP since the market peaked in July. However, many buyers were anticipating, at time of writing, that the reduction in subsidy was unlikely to be as sharp as the fall in prices, hence the strong demand exhibited during the month.
