The situation has not changed much on the Mediterranean coaster shipping market. The regional cargo traffic remains quite brisk thanks to regular shipments of minerals, grains, raw materials and fertilizers. At the same time, the tonnage list is short in the basin. This problem is especially acute in EMed, where part of the tonnage is considering ore already carrying out shipments of Black Sea grain. Few open vessels can be seen in other parts of the basin. In these circumstances, owners are even trying to strengthen positions, and already succeed in some cases. In general, however, freight rates hold relatively steady.
