Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Scott Sheffield of Texas-based upstream company Pioneer Natural Resources reported that production growth in the US oil industry will only reach 500K b/d this year and will be below this level next year. The CEOs of other US oil companies, such as Chevron (CVX), ExxonMobil (XOM), and ConocoPhillips have also indicated that production volumes this year will be on the lower end of their previous forecasts because of supply-chain and labor issues as well as inflation impacting the industry.
