Dear Airways, Upon receiving my issue with the Boeing 100 special edition (Airways, November 2016), I was more excited than usual. However, after reading the article, I found myself disappointed. The article was a 'Debbie Downer', and not celebratory as it should have been. Yes, Boeing has certainly faced many turbulent times and unsuccessful programs. When a company turns 100, which is rare, the related article should be more uplifting and focused on its positive contributions to the industry. I believe that a perspective from spotters and AvGeeks would have been nice, too. The analysis and timeline could have been much better for that important milestone. It just talked too much about what was wrong than about what was good. Boeing is my favorite plane maker(and the 727 is my favorite plane), and I am biased. But talking more about the positive aspects that each of its planes has contributed to the aviation industry and the world, versus comparing numbers, would have been better. The article was too analytical, and it was not the approach that should have been used. I enjoy Airways very much, but I felt disappointed and believe that the writer was not best suited to have written it and that the approach should have been different. I have been a loyal Airways reader since the first issue in 1994, and I have all my issues saved. I look forward to each new issue and thank you for a great magazine. Happy flying, always,.
