摘要

The most important property of any apparel is comfort. Moisture management is important aspect for fabric which decides the comfort level of that fabric. In order to make wearer more comfortable, in market different polyester filament yarns are available. In order to know the significance of kooltex filament yarn regarding its wicking behavior and comfort level of fabrics made with kooltex yarn, nine different fabrics were made in combination with kooltex filament yarn, normal polyester yarn and cotton yarn. Thus three different types of yarns were used as 75D/90 kooltex filament yarn, 75D/72 polyester filament yarn and 70S cotton yarn respectively. Nine samples were produced on CCI SL8900 sample weaving machine by keeping EPI-94 and PPI-64 with plain weave for all samples. Before producing fabrics, yarns were tested for wicking, tensile strength, elongation and crimp contraction. Comfort characteristics of fabrics were tested for vertical wicking, transverse wicking, water vapour permeability, air permeability and thermal insulation value. Results were analyzed by applying two-way analysis variance (ANOVA) with replication and without replication.
