In direct (beam) warping, the yarns are withdrawn from the single-end yarn packages of the creel and directly wound in sheet form on a double flanged beam. Direct warping process is practiced for grey or mono coloured warps of very long lengths. With high creel capacity, modern direct warping machines used for high volume production. Direct warping is comparatively less expensive and run at higher speed. Hence, high speed warping is also called as direct warping. The key aspect in the warping is to preserve the yarn elongation and maintain it at uniform level. This paper covers study of modern concepts and developments of different direct warping machines with technical details and features.
