Global Cement (GC): What have been the main trends regarding GBFS over the past 12 months? CZ: The supply of GBFS was affected by the Covid-19 pandemic, due primarily to a reduction in steel production volumes. We estimate that there was a year-on-year drop of 20% in GBFS production for 2020 as a whole. As many readers will be aware, turning a steel mill on and off is not trivial. Several suppliers in major markets restricted production in the second quarter of 2020 and some are only restarting production now as economies recover.
